Experiencing a disappointing outcome is an emotionally painful experience (trust us, we have all been there!).

How can we process these experiences and emerge resilient?

Whether that is not getting the grades you were hoping for or not being offered a dream job, experiencing disappointment hurts!

We often work very hard and come so close to achieving our goal, but ‘fail’ at the last minute. For example, on Sunday when the Lionesses came a very impressive second in the World Cup Final.

Sam Ryder released a song titled ‘Fought and Lost’ in which he writes “Better to have fought and lost than never fought at all” and that “We will see you here, Same time, same place, next year’, sending a message of resilience to getting back up on your feet after disappointment.
