For parents/carers
MINDYOUR5 is a five a day for improving mental health programme developed by Clinical Psychologist Dr Nihara Krause. It’s simple to practice and consists of doing one thing from each of the categories below every day. Individuals and families can have fun by practising some of the tasks.

Healthy Practice
This focuses on ways to improve physical health. Setting a sleep routine, eating more fruit are examples of what can be done.
Activity
Research indicates that half an hour of activity a day helps improve mental health. These activities are not only physical but creative activities, relaxing activities and rest can all help.
Positive Thinking
Our thoughts are very powerful influencers of mood. Help manage negative thinking and provide a template for helping problem solve.
Positive Emotions
Learning how to identify, express and regulate emotions is helpful in maintaining positive mental health. See the Resilience section for some tips.
Your Connections
Positive relationships are enormously important in boosting mental health. Provide opportunities for your children to connect and be a good role model.
