Today is Youth Mental Health Day 2024! Join Us in Spreading the #ControlYourScroll Message
Today, 19th September, we celebrate stem4’s Youth Mental Health Day, raising awareness about young people’s mental health and equipping them with the tools to navigate the digital world safely. This year’s theme, #ControlYourScroll, focuses on empowering young people with strategies to create a positive and secure online experience.
In a world where social media offers instant connection, creativity, and entertainment, it’s crucial to recognise the risks that come with it. stem4’s survey of over 1,000 young people revealed that 93% have been frightened by online content, with top concerns including misinformation (59%), online scams (58%), cyberbullying (52%), and inappropriate sharing of sexual images (39%).
But there’s good news: you can take control! Today, on Youth Mental Health Day, we invite you to explore our #ControlYourScroll resources, including mental health strategies and digital tips designed to help you thrive both online and offline.
