No Child Should Face This Winter Alone

1 in 5 young people in the UK are living with a mental health disorder, yet only 40% receive support.

Your donation to stem4 funds clinically-informed mental health support that can save lives.

The Mental Health Crisis Is Worsening

According to the most recently available statistics:

  • 20% of children and young people aged 8 to 25 years have a probable mental disorder.
  • There are almost one million children and young people with active referrals for Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services.
  • A third (28%) of children referred to mental health services (270,300) are still waiting for support, while almost 40% (372,800) having their referral closed before accessing support.

At stem4, we don’t just provide hope

Last year alone:

0
young people benefitted from access to our mental health apps
0
hours of support were delivered
0%
of people using our apps not receiving any other professional mental health care

of children and young people reported
that our apps helped reduce their
mental health symptoms

of applicable users said their need
for professional support had reduced

But we can’t do it without you…

With your help, we can reach even more young people this winter.

Impact stories

“The Calm Harm app has helped me more than any other tool or service in managing my urge to self-harm. Simply knowing that the app is there gives me a sense of safety in my everyday life. I am super grateful to stem4 for their work.”

14-year-old user, UK

“The apps are invaluable. They offer evidence-based accessible tools that young people can use between appointments or when waiting for specialist care. Each app targets a specific need.”

Dr Amit Seyan, NHS GP

“There is a massive need for schools to support students struggling with anxiety every day, but our teachers often struggle to provide the help every student needs. Having a clinically validated resource like Clear Fear makes a real difference.”
