- On Saturday July 18th the members of Wimbledon Scooter Alliance held their first charity fundraiser in aid of stem4.It was an enormous success running from lunchtime until late in the evening and raising over £1800 on the day. The event, held at the Leather Bottle in Wimbledon was well supported by both the general public and many of the 50 members of the WSA, who were treated to music from two police bands during the evening, ensuring a lively disco and karaoke. In spite of predictions even the weather was kind and so the delicious barbecue went off without a hitch and was enjoyed by all.
- Although all members of the WSA were instrumental in the making the day run smoothly, particular credit and our thanks must go to PC Lisa Billimore-Hughes who masterminded the planning and organisation of the day. Lisa and her team, most of whom have full time jobs also dedicated many hours to distributing flyers and leaflets beforehand and enabled the involvement of Barclays Bank as well. Funds raised jointly between by the WSA and Barclays Bank totalled a massive £3099.
- stem4 would like to congratulate the Wimbledon Scooter Alliance on the success of the day and thank them (and the landlord of the Leather Bottle who allowed the venue to be used for the fun day) for all the hard work they put into to this wonderful action packed, fun-filled event.
