Super Dragons at the South Downs Marathon. June 2012

  • On Saturday the 9th June, six employees from Diespeker Marble Ltd gathered together to take part in the South Downs half and full marathon. Held on the undulating slopes of the South Downs this is a challenging run. John Krause, Managing Director made this his 79th marathon completing the 26 mile course, with a knee injury in 3 hours 50 mins. Antonio Paolino aged 66 ran his first half marathon completing the course in just over 2 hours. Jose and Bruno also ran their first half marathon and they also organised a ‘Super Dragons’ relay Team, comprising several family members and friends. Andy Brady, factory foreman also ran his first half marathon and Steve completed part of the relay team. You can see a couple more pics of the team on Flickr.
  • “It was a pleasure to run for such a great charity – everyone enjoyed the experience and have already committed themselves for next year, running again for STEM4. Muscles are a bit sore but every single pain was worth it. We are already working on the next marathon (which takes place before the South Downs) and we will continue to support STEM4.
