Students from a number of Wandsworth schools attended the student conference on teenage mental health at Saint Cecilia’s Church of England School on Monday 3rd July 2017.

These conferences are designed to bring together a range of young people to provide an opportunity to express, in their own words, a message to their peers about the importance of looking after their mental health and to understand what steps they can take to stop the growth of mental illness right from the start.

At each conference, students create a statement about the importance of communication, early identification and early action for change. Congratulations to the team who created the winning statement:

  • C – Change is possible
  • A – Allow others to be there for you
  • R – Respect yourself
  • P – Positive mindset
  • E – Express your feelings

  • D – Don’t give up
  • I – It’s okay to cry
  • E – Exercise is helpful
  • M – Motivate
