Eating Disorders are complex mental ill health conditions and often require specialist treatment. Early intervention is key to minimise the impact. Whilst eating disorders arise due to a complex network of factors, low self-worth is seen as a core contributor. There are also a range of eating difficulties associated with sensory or neurodevelopmental issues which cause parents and carers significant concern.
This webinar will focus on providing parents and carers with:
- a brief outline of the early signs and symptoms of eating disorders
- an outline of treatment options, including an introduction to stem4’s Worth Warrior app*
- an understanding of body image issues and being aware of modern day challenges such as social media and extreme sport
- the role of parents and carers as part of the treatment team
