stem4 is proud to have been awarded Small Charity of the Year 2024 at the Third Sector Awards for our work in supporting children and young people’s mental health in various ways.

Our innovative Online Safety First Aid (OSFA) Course was also shortlisted for the Breakthrough of the Year Award, and our Worth Warrior App, which offers crucial support for those struggling with eating disorders, was nominated for Digital Innovation of the Year.

We’re thrilled to be acknowledged with these awards for the evidence based support we have offered to young people and all those who help them achieve positive mental health.

Third Sector Awards: Charity of the Year (Small) – Winner: stem4

This prestigious award goes to the charity or voluntary sector organisation that has had a truly exceptional year and whose recent achievements have attracted the admiration of the sector.

About stem4

We are stem4, the UK’s leading digital mental health charity for children and young people. We offer a suite of 5 evidence-based mental health apps that support various mental health conditions as well as digitally delivered mental health literacy programmes in schools.

We also bridge the digital divide by offering in-person facilitation of mental health education in schools and mental health training of parents and carers, educators, and health professionals, as well as providing multiple, clinically informed, printable resources.

Our free offerings help thousands of young people manage anxiety, self-harm, depression and eating disorders across the UK every single day, whilst also learning to build resilience and become safe online.

stem4’s nomination for Charity of the Year

We believe stem4 deserved to be considered for this award. In 2023 alone, we placed free psychological help in over 500,000 young people’s hands and to date our apps have been downloaded over 4 million times.

Third Sector Awards: Breakthrough of the Year & Digital Innovation of the Year – Finalist: stem4

Alongside being awarded Small Charity of the Year, we were pleased to be a finalist in two of the other categories, Breakthrough of the Year and Digital Innovation of the Year.

stem4’s nomination for Breakthrough of the Year Award

We were pleased that our innovative Online Safety First Aid (OSFA) Training was a finalist in this category. This training equips professionals with essential knowledge about the online risks that can affect young people, helping them to understand how these risks can become harmful, and how to support young people to recover from online harms. It focussed particularly on how to support young people from disadvantaged groups and communities who are facing mental health challenges.

stem4’s nomination for Digital Innovation of the Year

We were also proud that our Worth Warrior App, which offers crucial support for those struggling with eating disorders, was nominated for Digital Innovation of the Year.
