Thanks to a Tech for Good grant from Comic Relief/Paul Hamlyn Foundation and other fundraising initiatives, work has begun on our new app entitled Clear Fear to help support children and young people with anxiety – to complement our award-winning Calm Harm app.

stem4 received hundreds of requests from students attending our conferences for an app to help manage anxiety symptoms. 1 in 6 children and young people present with a range of anxiety disorders which, if not managed effectively, can run a chronic course into adulthood affecting their education, relationships and self-development.

The team attended a Tech for Good kick-off workshop run by CAST where we met the other successful teams and explored the problems we are trying to solve.

We held a session with a group of teenagers to get their input into the look and feel of the app – the logo, the colour palette and app content. Their feedback was invaluable and this co-creation process really is essential to ensure we create an app that will truly help and support young people.
