  • On 19 November 2013, Dr Nihara Krause, CEO of STEM 4 spoke at the 7th Annual ‘Promoting Mental Health in Schools’ Conference in London, organised by Optimus Education. Her presentation, which was entitled ‘Recognising the early warning signs of depression amongst children and young people – a take-away toolkit of effective support mechanisms’, generated considerable interest amongst the many delegates who attended. Speaking at the event, Dr Krause commented that ‘the vast number of young people with depression make full recovery with the right type of treatment, support and self-help’ and suggested a number of ways to offer early identification and support in schools. The STEM4 stand, manned by Patsy Preece and Natasha Krause, also generated significant interest among the many teachers, school nurses and school counsellors who attended the event.
