stem4 is thrilled to have won Best Healthcare App of the Year for Calm Harm in the HTN Health Tech Awards 2021! It’s brilliant to see continued recognition for our first app and, most importantly, to see how it is helping young people to ‘ride the wave’ of their urges to self harm.
Calm Harm is a free app developed by Dr Nihara Krause, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, using the basic principles of an evidence-based therapy called Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
Calm Harm provides tasks to help users resist or manage the urge to self-harm. Users can make it private by setting a password, and personalise the app if they so wish. Users can also track their progress and notice change. For advice on how to use Calm Harm during COVID-19, download our guide or watch the animation below.
Please note the app is an aid in treatment but does not replace it.
